What Do You Believe Is True Even Though You Can't Prove It?

A fascinating article in the Science Times of NYTimes today where several “scientists, futurists and other creative thinkers” were asked this question. Answers ranged from “irrational choices,” “other life exists in our galaxy,” “other animals have feelings and a conscious,” “there is a god,” “there isn’t a god,” “that human consciousness is a conjuring trick, designed to fool us into thinking we are in the presence of an inexplicable mystery,” “that babies and young children are actually more conscious, more vividly aware of their external world and internal life, than adults are,” and finally “true love.”
