Quote of the Day

“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve (or save) the world and a desire to enjoy (or savor) the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.” – E.B. White

  1. The attitude towards life represented by that quote is just what I would expect of E.B. White, whom I greatly admire.

He was probably “thinking about lunch” when he said this, though– there’s no inherent conflict between the two impulses.

Enjoying life and savoring a moment is also improving the world and adding to the sum total of human happiness.

I suppose you could say the same thing about Provigil.;-)
