101 Dumbest Moments in Business

Business 2.0 lists the 101 Dumbest Moments in Business for 2006.

I loved this YouTube video of a BBC interview with an "IT expert" on an Apple industry move. They accidentally brought on the wrong guy, and a taxi driver off the street ended up in the analyst hot seat trying to comment on the news. Hilarious.

And then there’s Northwest Airlines providing a useful guide to saving money to all their laid-off employees: "The advice includes dumpster diving ("Don’t be shy about pulling something you like out of the trash"), making your own baby food, shredding old newspapers for use as cat litter, and taking walks in the woods as a low-cost dating alternative."

  • Thanks, I’d managed to miss that “IT Expert” story. When he realizes his predicament, the way in which he visibly cycles through various emotions is great!

Searching around though, it looks like he was applying for an IT job with them (not a taxi driver, since he doesn’t drive a car).
