Quote of the Day

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints in our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.”

I saw this posted on a wall of a house I stayed at in London. It was a personal email. I don’t know if it’s a “quote.” Regardless, the fact that my eyes happened to pass it makes it all the more beautiful.

The most wrenching cases are when people enter your life, leave your life, and years later you realize the impact they had, when it’s too late….

  • You move my soul, BC — or at least my mind. But I think my soul, or heart, as well — though I’m not quite sure yet how, or why. But I realize it now. I’m ahead of the game. 🙂

    Beautiful quote, dude!

  • This is the whole point of living in the moment. Those of us who do it well, which is very few, recognize these moments and take advantage of them.

  • I definitely agree with Darren. Life is just so very full of those unique moments. Furthermore, I think that one starts being happier in life once they learn seeing, grasping and enjoying those moments, as if they would never end. But knowing at the same time that they can’t be eternal. Let me add a quotation from John Lennon: “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans”. Or as Romans said: Carpe Diem!

  • While I really love this quote (and I have shared it with someone just now), I think it is very difficult to see the macro effects of someone until they are gone.

I have been working through the loss of someone in my life for many months and although I knew how important they were before they left, I really couldn’t understand how empty I would be once they were gone.

The simpliest things (like sharing this quote) would have been something I shared with them and now sharing it with them is really not possible.

Although these type of people leave an imprint, the loss of them from your everyday life can also be devastating.
